Levels
|
Level 1 |
Swimmer
age 12 & under; For first year
swimmers and/or swimmers that cannot yet swim 50 continuous yards.
Introduction to the four strokes and stroke mechanics are the focus for this
level. USA meet participation is
optional. |

Level 2 |
Swimmer
age 12 & under; For swimmers ready
to swim more than 50 continuous yards or for swimmers who do not desire the
extra commitment level required for Level 3 swimmers. Focus on mastering stroke
technique as well as flip turns, stroke turns, starts, goal setting and other
basic swimming concepts. USA meet
participation is optional. |

Level 3 |
Swimmer
age 12 & under; Swimmers will be
exposed to some more moderate aerobic and sprint training other than stroke
instruction. Some goals of this level are mastery of the pace clock during
practice, as well as building, changing speeds in races, developing
bi-lateral breathing and goal setting. Level 3 swimmers should be
prepared to do challenging practices and should also have a higher level of
commitment to their swimming careers.
USA meet participation is expected. |

Senior |
Swimmer
age 11-18; For middle to high school-aged swimmer who is not ready for Elite
group enrollment. Along with a consistent
training regimen, Senior swimmers will continue learning the benefits of race
strategy, pace work, and interval training in practice. They will begin
learning about the benefits of sports nutrition, ab/core dry land concepts,
and weight training. An
optional advanced training group will be offered for those Senior swimmers
who desire a higher commitment level and wish to prepare for the Elite
group. Higher expectations with
regards to attendance at practice and training commitment. USA meet participation is mandatory for the
advanced training group only. |

Elite |
Swimmer
age 13-18; For high school-aged
swimmers who wish to pursue collegiate swimming, and who make the Dolphins
their #1 athletic priority. Highly challenging training incorporating
heart rates and energy zones complements guidance on nutrition, weight
lifting and dry land work, mental training, leadership skills. Elite swimmers
will also be called upon to fill a mentor role for the rest of the team
throughout the year. USA meet
participation is mandatory. *Please
contact the head coach prior to registering for the Elite group* |
Swimmers are asked to be suited up and on deck 5 minutes prior to
practice starting time.
